Oceans on the Moon is the music project of Genoa based electronic artists Marco Martini (bass, keyboards, programming) and Andrea Leone (vocals, keyboards, programming, guitars) and came into existence in 2012.
Since 2014 the duo have been flanked by drummer Andrea Pellicone, who put his skills at the service of Oceans on the Moon in their recent recordings.
Oceans on the Moon’s sound is a hypnotic mix of explorative post-rock combined with vital rhythmic elements of contemporary New Wave and originates from an assimilation of trip-hop skillfully arranged with those aforementioned eclectic styles. The whole being deeply influenced by Marco and Andrea’s long time fascination with Radiohead’s experiments between alternative rock and electronica.
Their first album, ‘Tidal Songs’, from June 2014, included the instrumental track Children of Greece which was chosen for the soundtrack of the Italian exposé documentary Il più grande successo dell’euro in 2015.
In 2017, Oceans on the Moon contributed to the soundtrack of the documentary Start up a war by Sara Reginella with some original instrumental tracks. The film received mass critical acclaim and won numerous international awards in 2018 and 2019.
Oceans on the Moon have a new album coming out in the Summer, a masterful and gorgeously crafted work of art, oceans on the moon II.
